Damiko is a French illustrator. He has been working between Bordeaux and Tokyo for 15 years. In the 1990s, he visited the studio of painter Raul Bustamente in Freiburg im Breisgau. From him he learns the basics of observation drawing. This was followed by a decisive encounter with Bernhard Kunkler, which opened up the world of illustration for Damiko. Since 2012 member of T. C. C. (Track Creator's Circle), his work is mainly known in Japan.
Damiko mostly draws scenes of life in situ. Far from technical perfection, his works are proof of his special powers of observation. Spontaneous pencil and ink lines characterize his pictures. Preliminary designs are superfluous and only very rarely does a finished picture ask for alterations.
