Hans-Ulrich Osterwalder studied in Zurich at the commercial art school - in best Bauhaus tradition with Johannes Itten amongst others. Alongside he received his practical training with Walter Herdeg (Graphis), as well as with Werner Zryd. He worked in advertising in Italy, Germany and Switzerland. In the Studio Boggeri in Milan he did his first series of advertising with his own illustrations and his first book of illustrations – an anthology of the “Blues” – by Joachim E. Berendt. 1987-1999 Guest-lecturer at the Scuola Superiore per arte applicata (CSIA, SSAA & SUPSI) in Lugano. Since 1966 he works freelance in the field illustration, animation, graphic design, composing & photoshop, analog, digital & three dimensional. Since 2001 with Peter Schrader during his studies at HAW in Hamburg and, since 2003 as partners for publishing houses Archimède & Atlantis for childrens nonfiction books; in the pharma industry in advertising & company brochures for Bayer, Baxter, Bionorica, Novartis; in print media for manager-magazin, Stern, Spiegel and Zeitmagazin, Brigitte (Lexica for women) Für Sie, to name but a few.
